Stearns County Deputy Issues Ice Cream Tickets

(KNSI) – A Stearns County Deputy gave two responsible young riders a pair of sweet citations on patrol.

According to the department’s Facebook post, Deputy Sana caught two kids wearing helmets and gave them each an ice cream ticket. The coupon is good for one free small ice cream cone. Sana spotted the little ones over the weekend.

Law enforcement agencies in central Minnesota have partnered with Dairy Queen in a project to reward kids who wear a helmet while biking, rollerblading or skateboarding. Officers carry the tickets with them on patrol.
